Originally from the Mid-West, I embrace my down to earth upbringing and embrace the benefits and challenges of Bay Area living. My style and technique is gentle but goal-focused. My work is primarily based on attachment theory, and I use psychodynamic and cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) interventions when appropriate. I use humor and direct communication to support both children and families to de-stress and work through emotional roadblocks. I provide psychotherapy for children, parents and individual adults. In addition to my clinical work, I have taught courses in mental health at DeAnza College.
